From plastic to oil
Posted on 03. Sep, 2010 by Vlado.
The problem with global warming, be it real or not, and garbage overflow in major cities has inspired Akinori Ito, from the Japanese company Blest to make this incredible machine that converts plastic wrappings, bottles, etc. into oil. The thing that is even more interesting is that the machine is not too large and from 1 kg. of plastic it produces almost 1 kg. of oil. And from oil it can be converted to gasoline, diesel, etc. and power your car with your own fuel.

Recycled building material better than concrete
Posted on 31. Mar, 2010 by Vlado.

UK company Affresol has created a new building material called Thermo Poly Rock (TPR). The material is made from various selected waste products and results in a stronger than concrete, waterproof, fire retardant material that can be used to build low-cost modular housing. Other benefit than being recyclable, TPR is uses an avarage of 18 tons of garbage for one house, which can make some dramatic changes in landfills.
