Designed by Alessandro Mendini, the stainless steel kitchen island looks a little cold and sterile, then you see the softly curving lines.

One space, many functions, many moments, lots of emotions. To be accommodating means having a totally opened attitude towards others. In this project everything is designed to make a person feel in harmony with his/her environment. To make a person feel at one with the whole. An open project in which one can live the body-mind relationship in the best possible way.

The equipped back section. Order must reign in the kitchen. Every object or utensil must have its own specific place.
Nothing is useless. Everything here must be organised for maximum simplicity.
The equipped back section has been designed to contain various accessories that are useful for working in the kitchen. There is also a space for plumbing and electrical connections inside it. Kitchen chores become lighter because everything is comfortably on hand.

Deglon Meeting is a knives set made of a paring knife, carving knife, chef’s knife, filleting knife and their block combined in one.

Meeting is a set of kitchen knives: paring knife, carving knife, chef’s knife, filleting knife and their block. They all seem to be
sculpted out of one piece of steel. The proportions are determined by the Fibonacci sequence with as it’s base the average width of a hand.
This set was awarded the first prize of the Fifth European Award for Cutlery Creation and is edited by Deglon in Thiers (France).

Boxetti Lunch is a multifunctional kitchen island unit containing all the necessary kitchen equipment. The unit has an automatic sliding surface uncovering a built-in sink with a tap. The sliding surface is equipped with a safety sensor to stop closing automatically if any hand movement is detected.The work surface contains a closed space for tableware together with a default set of kitchen knifes.

The part of the top surface is foldable to uncover the oak tree cutting board, the foldable cover has a built-in LED spotlight. The unit is equipped with two extensible bar seats, a space for built-in fridge, a standard set of shelves and drawers.

The Christophe mobile kitchen by Calanc is measuring 128 by 100 by 110 cm. The automatic gas ignition keeps your meals hot and a mini fridge keeps your drinks cool. It is everything that you’ll need from a moving kitchen really.

With the mobile kitchen you can’t prove what a master chef you really are, but it is a great comfort for a garden party. It weighs 100 kg so the wheels are a great way to move the whole thing to where you’ll need it.

Not your typical material of choice for the kitchen, but it makes up for it in aesthetics, hygiene and heat resistance.

Made of ultra-thin 8 mm concrete it is not as heavy as you might think, as the process in creating is not the same as creating usual concrete. You can choose to combine the concrete island with wood or metal. You can review more details at Steininger Design.
